Name:
Location: Cleveland, Ohio, United States

I'm a Southerner, born and bred (though you'd never know it from my accent, I'm told). I like to eat 'til I'm tired out from eating, hear good storytelling 'til I can recite the stories in my sleep (Stories have to be told or they die, and when they die, we can't remember who we are or why we're here.), watch people, look at sparkly things, listen to good bluegrass music, dream about owning a dog, tell crazy stories about my family, and organize things.

Send Back the Moving Truck...

....I didn't get the job. As you can imagine, I am devastated.
I really wanted to come home and do this job.

Apparently, I am "exceptional," but my international expertise isn't "broad enough" for what they're looking for.

Terribly confused I am.

So, I'm regrouping.

It's a grey day in Cleveland.
Fitting.

I'm so sorry! I've been in similar situations before (though not away from home) and it bites.

Hiss, hiss to the hiring committe! What bad judges they are!

Julie: Come to think of it we (You and I) were the moving truck that took you up there! I'll never forget because: 1. I had never towed a car with a U-Haul truck. 2. I had some great quality time with you 3. My hands were in an almost constant state of flexion contractures from LR to Nashville. Guess I sweated so much I got my electrolytes out of kilter. My only remedy was to shove the contracting fingers against the steering wheel. Didn't help that there were several miles of highway construction as we entered Nashville -- with the barriers oh so close to the sides of the truck. And who knows how close the Volvo we were towing came to extinction/destruction/disintegration. Bummer re the job. They made a promise. They didn't keep it. End of discussion.

I am so disappointed for you. I was selfishly looking forward to seeing you more! It seems SO wrong.

I'm so sorry things didn't turn out the way you wanted. Maybe some booze and cookies in December will cheer you up. Bing and Rosemary will be waiting.
